Project Description:
97 Crooke Avenue is a 53 unit, nine-story elevator building being constructed on a vacant lot near the southern edge of Prospect Park in Flatbush, Brooklyn. 97 Crooke Avenue will offer affordable and supportive housing to both lower-income community residents and formerly homeless individuals exiting the City’s shelter system and are qualified for permanent housing. This beautiful building will provide a decent, safe and permanent home complete with on-site case management, community rooms for tenant and community use, and a landscaped back patio and garden. The building will be participating in NYSERDA, a New York State program that requires at least a 20% reduction in energy consumption (as compared to a typical building). This energy efficient and sustainable project will promote healthy indoor air quality through non-toxic finishes and ventilation. Designed by Dattner Architects, 97 Crooke Avenue will also feature innovative design due to a tight lot configuration. The project closed on all project financing on December 30, 2009 and is under construction. The project is scheduled to complete construction in winter, 2011.

Social Services: CAMBA provides case management and programming on-site, such as nutrition
counseling, yoga, financial management and holiday and social gatherings; 24-hour building security is also provided.
