About CHV
Since 1991, CAMBA has been addressing the City’s housing crisis and today this portfolio includes homelessness prevention, housing relocation, emergency and transitional housing, and permanent affordable and supportive housing. In response to a pressing need for permanent, stable and affordable housing for Brooklyn residents, CAMBA created an affiliated affordable housing development corporation in 2005 called CAMBA Housing Ventures, Inc. CAMBA Housing Ventures envisions vital neighborhoods where safe, decent and affordable housing plays a critical role in the long-term economic and social success of lower-income individuals and families. The mission of CAMBA Housing Ventures is to develop and operate affordable service-enriched rental housing that is designed and maintained with great care to provide a secure and stable home for every tenant.
CHV’s goal is to have in the pipeline and/or partner to create 1,000 units of affordable housing by 2015. To date, CHV is working to develop over 750 units of affordable and supportive housing, representing $212 million in public and private investment. CHV’s successfully completed projects to date are 1247 Flatbush and 880 Willoughby representing 146 units and $24 million. Currently in construction, 97 Crooke represents 53 units and $15 million and CHV is the non-profit partner with Hudson Companies on the 197-unit $61 million development in East New York.
